The last 6 months I have been reflecting a lot on what it means to walk out our ‘calling.’ When I say, ‘calling’ I mean- obedience to a specific mission or assignment God has placed upon your life.

For most of my life I have lived ‘On-Mission’ trekking among some of the most primitive tribes and darkest people groups around the world.

You see, since I was young, I have felt a deep passion and desire to serve God in taking the gospel to the unreached.

For years, I thought every christian felt this way. 🤷‍♀️

I had no idea that this was a unique, specific, calling that rested over my life.

I assumed that every christian woke up dreaming about walking in places of the world where the gospel had not been proclaimed. Getting lost in imagination of being those ‘beautiful feet’ delivering Good News to those held captive to centuries of lies.

It took years of laboring in the local church and serving on foreign fields for me to realize that this ‘calling’ was unique and driven by a deep conviction placed by the Holy Spirit in the depths of my heart.

In fact, I learned through the years that this calling went deeper than just ‘going’ but it was crafted in my soul in such a way that I felt restless unless I was mobilizing others to ‘GO’ too.

It was never enough for me to just , ‘GO’. I felt an insatiable urgency to bring people along with me to taste and see. I just knew, if they could feel the weight of darkness that drapes over your soul when you land in one of these countries or see the deep hopelessness that makes the eyes of the unreached blaze with emptiness and pain, that they would feel the burden of doing whatever it takes to bring them the Gospel hope that we carry so casually.

25+ nations later that same restlessness continues to drive me…deeper, harder and more intensely, to push back darkness and every obstacle that tries to block my path, to cry out for laborers to abandon all and ,’GO’ and ‘TELL’.

I share all of this with you, not to just tell you my calling but to ask, “What drives you?”

“What is that deep passion God has placed in your heart that directs everything you do?”

Throughout the years I have come to discover that many Christians have never even considered that God has, ‘called’ them to a unique mission to fulfill His plan and purpose over their lives.

The hustle and bustle of life often steals our dreams and pushes us to live moment by moment trying to manage the unseemingly chaos that surrounds our lives and family.

But today I would love to challenge you to dig a little deeper and reflect a bit longer on what ‘really’ drives your life?

Jesus said, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other, …” Matthew 6:24

I believe the more we strive to live for Jesus —FIRST…the more we will discover the deep passion He has placed within our lives, that will bring Him most glory from our lives.

Refuse today to settle for survival, choose to thrive for His Kingdom in fulfilling the mission, you were put on this planet to fulfill!
